surfing adventure at Salt Surf

Everyone who enjoys adventure might have a dream of surfing in the ocean. Playing with the waves is the best moment you will ever receive in your life. Today, Let’s explore the surf community in Khao Lak on Coral Bay called “Salt Surf” with Sawasdee

The Surf Culture at Salt Surf

“If there is no salt, there is no surf”. It is the well-known tagline of Salt Surf. It was inspired by the concept of being the “Salt of the Earth,” symbolizing the idea of preserving goodness and purity in a world full of challenges, much like how salt preserves food and keeps the ocean alive, encouraging individuals to remain steadfast and true to themselves despite adversity.

Surfing is a must-do activity for having time with your friends. Besides, Salt Surf also has a beachside cafe near the surfing spots, so you can have tea, chit-chat with your friends and recharge your energy. It is also a place where you can spend the whole day there while you sit back and wait for your favorite waves. Not yet to mention its stunning views, all your tensions will disappear while having a good snack and enjoying the atmosphere.

Khao Lak, Coral Bay

Khao Lak is one of the premier surfing destinations in Thailand. To get there, you need to travel two hours north of Phuket on the main coast road and you’ll come to a string of beaches that get some good monsoon swell. If your group is large, you can also rent a private van from Sawasdee for your convenient travel.

Coral Bay has a nice view of the sunset, and it is like a retreat where you can relax after you have surfed. The breath-taking view of nature is quite refreshing and also worth it. It also has clear and tranquil water, making it a great spot for surfing and doing other sea activities.

However, when planning a visit to Salt Surf, timing is key for having the best surfing experience. The best times to visit Khao Lak, particularly Coral Bay, depend on both the surf conditions and the overall weather. Normally, the surf season is between September and April. During this time, the waves are more steady and can range from modest swells ideal for beginners to more difficult breakers suitable for expert surfers.

If you are a skilled surfer and expecting more challenges, late April through November is good to go. It is also less crowded during the low season. So, If you prefer a quieter experience with fewer crowds, visiting during the early or late surf season offers a more peaceful atmosphere.

You can book the surfing class offered for both adults and kids. Surfing is both the physical and mental support. We are sure you should try surfing once in a lifetime. There’s no better time to start than now, and remember, everyone starts somewhere. So, why hesitate? Just book a class and try surfing!
